Parent Questions

As of right now, graduation will continue as scheduled. If the school closure continues past the four weeks, the Department of Education has granted us the ability to graduate seniors without fulfilling the final quarter of classes. More guidance on this will be provided in the coming weeks.

There’s seems to be a lot of confusion on your last message about whether the school is closing after spring break or if it will continue to be open. To me, it seems to be that school will continue on unless we get notified otherwise on the 23rd. Please let me know. Thank you.

Central Lee is closed from March 16 to April 12. Our spring break week was week one of the closure. Due to a planned spring break, we are not starting services until March 23.

We only need an iPad if work is given for iPad. Thanks for all you’re doing on your spring break to keep all healthy!

We do plan to offer some supplemental learning. It may be advantegoues to have access to an iPad if you need one. More information will be available soon on how to access an iPad from school.

If you have siblings at home that is in middle school can the student that is in elementary use their iPad if they have school work from there teacher?

Yes, this would be acceptable. We can also find a way to get your elementary student an iPad as well if they choose to do so.

My son has meds in the nurses’ office in the elementary school. When and how can I get them?

Yes, Nurse Shanna is calling all families individually to resolve this issue

In looking ahead is there any talk about canceling prom? Graduation?

We have made no cancellations to any events beyond April 12. We will continue to provide more guidance in the future.

My child was wondering if she would need any of her textbooks. I will be willing to come and get whatever is both kids if they need anything special. Thank You!

We don't anticipate students needing textbooks but you will have the opportunity to request materials and we will create a method for you to pick them up.

What is the plan for students with IEPs? Some have 3 year reevaluations due. Is there going to be a curriculum for them to use so they don't fall farther behind?

Since learning is not required, all IEPs will be on hold until we resume school. Additional guidance will be provided by the AEA in the coming days.

What are you gonna do about parents that can't afford the internet if you decide to do online things? I will not take him anywhere he could get exposed to the coronavirus.

We are working on options for supplemental learning via online and offline materials.

If there is material or information available to daycare providers on helping keep kids (mainly elementary age) proficient these next few weeks I would be interested in, and willing to help distribute that.

Yes, this information is coming and will be available in the days ahead.

If we have an IPad at home can my Elementry student use that instead of a school IPad?

If daycares do shut down what do I do for daycares?

We are working on options for possible daycare solutions but do not have any answers at this time.

I wouldn’t be able to afford to drive to Central Lee daily, would there be a chance for delivery?

Our meal service will be delivered to homes in the Central Lee district. If you are open enrolled into the district, please contact your resident school to determine how they are delivering meals. All this information is on this page.

We have very limited internet through our phones. This is our only option and are not able to expand our allowed data. We have researched this. I am concerned teachers will want to utilize zoom or live stream. This is NOT going to work in our situation. I am in hopes they will not take on the thought of, they are home all day and overwhelm students with work. Some students will struggle with this learning style and feel defeated. I realize we are facing a challenging time. I believe in our teachers and school district. We are strong and we will get through this together.

We are working to create options that include both online and offline learning opportunities. All of these opportunities are supplemental and not required.

When is the anticipated start back date? Does the 4-week closure include spring break or is it 4 weeks after spring break?

As of right now, our planned to return date is April 13.

What can I do to assist my child's teacher beyond my child's work completion?

What extra support can I provide for parents who are still working?

Supplementary learning resources will be provided on March 25. We will be reaching out to volunteers who can help with daycare services very soon.

How do you plan to distribute food to those living in the country with both parents working?

We plan on delivering meals to each home. As of right now, this will be done daily.

Are we continuing to educate at home?

We hope to provide supplementary learning resources for all grade levels. These are not required and we hope to provide online and offline resources.

My son left his saxophone. Can I come this week and get it?

A CL staff member will contact you in the next week for you to retrieve this. If nobody contacts you, please call our offices between 8-4 starting March 23.

Can you give us an update on Prom and Graduation Ceremony? Thanks!

As of today, prom and graduation are still as scheduled.

Have you considered making packets for children without iPads that could be delivered by bus driver routes or picked up at load and go?

Yes, we have. Our staff returns to work on March 23 and need a bit of time to put together resources for students.

Will you be rescheduling the preschool registration on March 27th?

Yes, this is being rescheduled. We may consider moving registration for PK to an online format or later this summer.

First time enrolling for school, is it safe to say Little Hawks preschool registration is canceled and where can I find information if it is on this specific topic? Thank you sorry to bother you as I can only imagine how busy you are.

Yes, this is being rescheduled. We may consider moving registration for PK to an online format or later this summer.
