The required Iowa Statewide Assessment of Student Progress (ISASP) is coming up in April for our students in grades 3-11.
The purpose of the ISASP is to allow students to demonstrate what they have learned and how they are progressing. The data the assessment provides represents one way we measure student success. As a district, we will closely examine the results as we make decisions and ensure we are setting high expectations for student progress and achievement.
Students will be assessed in reading, math, and language/writing. Students in 5,8,11 will also be tested in Science. Testing will be in person and take place in the mornings. Below is the schedule:
Grades 9-11: Monday, April 8 - Friday, April 12
Grades 6-8: Monday, April 22 - Friday, April 26
Grades 3-5: Monday, April 22 - Friday, April 26
A healthy breakfast will be served each test day, starting at 8:00 a.m. We also wanted to share some tips for our families:
Make sure your student gets enough sleep the night before.
Make sure your student has a good breakfast or arrives at school on time for our free breakfast.
Remind your student of the importance of taking the test seriously.
Encourage your students to do their best and bring a positive attitude.
Explain that even though questions will be difficult and they may not know all the answers, it is important for students not to leave an answer blank.
Being on time and in attendance is important for all testing.
