Physical Education at Central Lee

Mr. Siebers and Miss Heavin have separate classes for 2nd and 3rd grade students, while collaborating to co-teach classes for 4th-6th graders. This schedule has proven successful, allowing us to maximize physical education time for all K-8 students. Since the fall, students have had the opportunity to participate in a variety of sports and activities.

Throughout the year, students have enjoyed traditional favorites such as volleyball, basketball, soccer, badminton, and handball, as well as newer and less common activities like Tchoukball, curling, KanJam, and gymnastics. Recently, students practiced their roller-skating skills!

It has been wonderful to witness students’ progress in both learning and ability. As we near the end of the school year, we look forward to engaging in recreational games and softball. We are hopeful that the weather will soon allow for outdoor learning experiences.

In high school PE, we are currently preparing for a two-week unit on in-line skating. Following that, weather permitting, we will transition to outdoor activities such as golf, soccer, and softball. Additional activities may be incorporated, as well.

It has been a fantastic year in physical education, and with two and a half months remaining, we anticipate it will only get better.
