Students Take Part in Inaugural High School Art Show

Last school year, art students closed out the school year with the first-ever Central Lee High School Art Show. It was a huge success and something that we hope to continue for years to come, and it gave students a chance to showcase all their amazing work from the 2020-21 school year. There were 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and Honorable Mention placings in several categories, plus an overall Best of Show that went to Hannah Leech for her pastel drawing of a succulent. The students also competed in the conference art show and Fort Madison High School Art Show. Karlie Pohren took Best of Show at the conference show!

Throughout the school year, art students stayed busy doing community service projects for the Keokuk Airport, painting wild designs on the airplane chucks that shop students then cut out. They also painted photo face boards for Jim’s Greenhouse!

Starting off the 2021-2022 school year, there are so many amazing art projects being created, including colored pencil, painting, and clay projects—just to name a few! The possibilities with these students are endless and we cannot wait to see what amazing things they will make this year!
