High School Student SOAR

The Central Lee High School SOAR team is a student-led leadership team. It is run with the help of adult leadership who allow students to take ownership of all the planning and execution of monthly activities to promote culture, the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, and community service. Students also help to plan lessons for the SOAR lessons.

Starting the school year, the SOAR team planned homecoming activities, but it didn't end there. Each month, there has been at least one student-led activity, including Penny Wars, Ringing the Salvation Army Bell, planning the Holiday fun days, dodgeball day, 80s dance, green day for Zephan, pep assemblies, awards assemblies, blood drives, roadside cleanup, door decorating, and teacher appreciation.

The team has 2-4 meetings per month with excellent attendance and a lot of great ideas shared. They have also had two retreats to discuss the 7 Habits, work on leadership skills, and plan activities. In April, the SOAR team will be presenting to the School Board, helping with STEM night, and holding a pie-a-teacher activity to raise money for the food pantry.

The 2021-22 Student SOAR team has exhibited excellent leadership, ownership, and pride in their activities and service. They do all this while staying busy in sports, extracurricular activities, clubs, after-school jobs, and keeping up their grades. They are truly excellent leaders!
