On September 29, the kindergarten classes took their first field trip of the year to Appleberry Orchard and Lee County Conservation. The purpose of the field trip was to learn about the life cycle of plants, particularly apples, and to learn about vegetation and animals that live in Iowa.

At Appleberry, students learned how apple trees are pollinated and how apples grow throughout the year.  While there, students were able to meet and feed the animals, then played at Appleberry Acres!

While at the Lee County Conservation, students learned about the wildlife, vegetation, and habitat that Iowa has to offer. Students explored the prairie and the Mighty Mississippi, then met and played with some of the conservation’s animals.

We had a great time at this field trip and are looking forward to more educational field trips throughout the school year!
