During Teacher Appreciation Week, we have an opportunity to thank the teachers who make such an amazing impact on our students, families, and community.
This week, take a moment to thank a teacher for all they do. Let’s make sure they know how much we appreciate them! 🌟

This afternoon, CLHS will host the annual High School Music Awards/Concert, from 12:30 to 1:30pm. Congrats on another great year of performances! 🎶🎙️

What a great day yesterday. With the early out at noon, Hawk Place took advantage of the longer afternoon, traveling by bus to Galesburg to visit the Discovery Depot Children's Museum, Train Museum, Coney Island 100 year old diner, and ending the day with a train ride back to Ft Madison Depot where they met their parents, eagerly awaiting their arrival. We are so proud of the way these kids represented Central Lee. Many compliments from the different places were expressed how well they behaved and cleaned up after themselves. At the end of the day we were met by another Central Lee Alumni - Amtrak Amy (Case/ Lambert) who helped organize the event. Thank you Amy! It was a great day and the smiles on the faces say it all. ( I wish I would have taken a picture of the excitement as we pulled into the depot and they saw their parents out the window). Perfect ending to a prefect trip!

Little Hawks Preschoolers learned about the process of making ice cream. Andrea Benner from local business, Hinterland Dairy, read students a story and modeled the steps so the students could make their own ice cream. Students may have had to wait several hours to eat it, which was difficult, but definitely worth the wait! Thanks for the partnership, Hinterland Dairy!

3rd Graders spent the day in Nauvoo, Illinois as part of their learning about westward expansion. Students were immersed in pioneer methods of doing many things.

Mrs. Heather Madsen takes her classes outside each spring to play drums called tubanos. In the drum circle students practice rhythms through echo or question and answer. They also build skills of communication, listening, and cooperative teamwork through this experience.

Each May, Mrs. Wells goes to the 5th grade classrooms to help prepare them for middle school. One lesson is teaching them how to open a combination lock, which is a main stressor for kids going into middle school. This year, three 6th grades leaders helped the 5th graders learn and gain confidence in opening the locks. They were a great help!

Get a team together for a FUN night of Trivia on May 13, and help support our Future Problem Solvers International Trip!! See the Flyer for details. Contact Mrs. Ensminger to sign up a team or more information.
