This past week two of our Cross Country runners broke school records. Aubree Bunnell broke her own record she set previously this season, running a time of 10:17.5 at the Mediapolis Invitational. Drake Newton followed up with his own record setting performance, running a time of 16:49.3.
These two are great runners and even better young adults, and they look to continue their strong performances at the Conference Meet and the State Qualifying Meet in the weeks to come. Congratulations, Aubree and Drake!
Our Volleyball girls woke up bright and early to head over to Bloomfield as they compete in the Davis County Tournament. This is the last regular season event for our girls before heading into Regionals play.

One of the best times of the year, HOMECOMING! It has been a fun week so far, and we now cap it off with our Boys of Fall taking on the Wilton Beavers. Tonight our Marching Band unites with alumni to perform together. It should be a fun night, and we hope to see as many alumni and community members as possible to support our Hawks.

We were so grateful to welcome representatives from the Des Moines Township, Donnellson, and Montrose Fire Departments to Central Lee Elementary for Fire Safety Day!
Our students learned about the equipment firefighters wear, explored the tools and equipment on the trucks, practiced STOP, DROP & ROLL, and learned a little more about the brave people who are willing to go toward danger when others need help. ❤️
Even beyond fire safety, it was an opportunity to teach our students about gratitude for our community helpers, especially those who volunteer their time to help keep others safe. That service does NOT go unnoticed!
A special thank you to Taylor Young for coordinating the day and to all of our firefighters who gave their time to teach, demonstrate, answer LOTS of questions, and connect with our kiddos!

Our Central Lee Hawks have a busy night tonight as the Volleyball team takes on the Danville Bears in a Senior Night showdown, and our Cross Country teams compete in the Mediapolis Cross Country Meet. We will be recognizing our great volleyball seniors in between the JV and Varsity games.

The Central Lee Football team travels up to Mid-Prairie tonight in a District 6 showdown in the mud. Due to the significant rain most of Iowa has received the past couple of days, the JV game before the varsity has been canceled. The Hawks look to dethrone Mid-Prairie from the top of the district.

Throughout the evening, kids had the opportunity to answer agriculture-related questions and win prizes for showing off their ag knowledge. Farm Bureau sponsored the evening and provided games, prizes, and T-shirts for kids to enjoy.
Central Lee FFA members also helped make the night extra sweet by serving up s’mores for the kids!
We love seeing our FFA members get involved in our community and help provide fun opportunities for younger students to learn a little agriculture along the way.
A big thank you to Farm Bureau for sponsoring Farm Strong Night and to all of our FFA members who volunteered their time to make the evening a success!
The morning portion of the day focused on learning from industry professionals. Students received instruction specific to their selected contest, learned more about the skills and knowledge needed to compete, and had the opportunity to ask questions and gain valuable insight from professionals in the agriculture industry.
In the afternoon, students put their knowledge to the test as they competed against other students and schools in their selected CDE.

Students spent the day exploring more than 600 agribusiness exhibits, seeing massive field machinery, learning about cutting-edge technology, and discovering new innovations being used in today’s agriculture industry. Students also had the opportunity to watch field demonstrations, attend agricultural seminars, visit with industry professionals, and connect with people from across the agriculture industry.
