Joe Krebill of the Central Lee Agricultural Education department and FFA program at Central Lee High School is pictured with the family beef herd. Some of the animals are part of Joe’s Supervised Agricultural Experience program through Agricultural Education. The Supervised Agricultural Experience projects are an extension of the Agricultural Education program at Central Lee Community Schools. Experiential and work-based learning in school based agricultural education allows local programs to extend beyond the classroom and into the community in order to develop an individual student’s industry and career-based competencies. The methodology for delivering such high quality experiential learning is the Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE). The SAE is a required component of a total Agricultural Education program and intended for every student. Through their involvement in the SAE program students are able to consider multiple careers and occupations, learn expected workplace behavior, and develop specific skills within an industry, and are provided opportunities to apply academic and occupational skills in the workplace or a simulated workplace environment. Through these strategies, students learn how to apply what they are learning in the classroom as they prepare to transition into the world of college and career opportunities. #CTEworksforCL

2 members of the Central Lee FFA participated in the 2022 National FFA Washington Leadership Conference recently, Aidan Boyer(L) and Landan Rudd(R). The FFA Washington Leadership Conference curriculum has been refreshed for 2022! WLC inspires FFA members to become changemakers in their communities. Each day of the conference focuses on a different principle taught through the context of our nation’s capital; those pillars being Explore, Encourage, Advocate and Serve. At the end of the week, members leave with a Living to Serve Plan they can implement in their communities. #CTEworksforCL
