The Central Lee FFA recognized 6 outstanding 1st year members in the Central Lee FFA at the annual parent-member-community appreciation banquet held recently. They were awarded the coveted “Star” Greenhand award which is based on scholarship, FFA activities and a well-planned Supervised Agricultural Experience Program(SAEP). The Central Lee FFA installed the 2022-2023 FFA officers at their annual parent-member-community banquet recently. Boeck-Ag-Ed Instructor/FFA Advisor, Landon Rudd-Secretary, Andrew Underwood-Treasurer, and Noah Altenhofen, Ag-Ed Instructor/FFA Advisor. The leadership of the Central Lee FFA organizes a challenging calendar of activities for the membership. Chapter officers serve a vital function in FFA. By taking a major leadership role, these students grow from the experience and benefit the chapter. It should be the officers’ goals to lead by example and encourage other members to participate in chapter activities. The following are general duties expected of all officers: • A genuine desire to be part of a leadership team. • A willingness to accept responsibility. • A sincere desire to work with all chapter members in meeting their leadership, personal and chapter goals.• A commitment to lead by example. • Knowledge and understanding of the chapter, state and national FFA constitutions, by-laws and programs. • A working knowledge of parliamentary procedure. • The ability to memorize official ceremonies. We congratulate these young leaders!!

The Central Lee FFA recognized 9 graduates with the coveted academic achievement award through the Iowa FFA Association. The group was recognized at the annual parent-member-community appreciation banquet. Students were successful in attaining a 3.5 GPA or above and were of exemplary character. 6th graders ended their school year with a writing contest. Students were to write a creative narrative about our service dog Atari. The winner, Evelyn Adkins, got to spend the day with Atari. The first runner up, Ava Derr, and second runner up, Colton Kirchner, got to enjoy a pizza party with Evelyn, Atari, and the 6th grade teachers. Congratulations to not only our winners, but all 6th grade participants!
