Huffman Welding & Machine gave eleven of our students a wonderful tour of their facilities last week. Students were able to see some of the industry’s most cutting edge technology found right here in Lee County. Students also saw products the company manufacture that are sent around the world. They were also able to learn about education and career paths that will lead them back to our community. Thank you to Huffman Welding & Machine for opening your doors and giving our students insights into future careers. #CTEworkforCL

The Central Lee Ag-Ed/FFA Chapter hosted Ag Olympics recently on the campus of Central Lee High School. The event is held to showcase the hard work and many chores students perform on a daily basis. Additionally, the event is held during National FFA week or National Agriculture week to bring attention to the many agricultural products we raise in the midwest. Students exhibit feats of strength and knowledge of agriculture during the event. In addition to the local Central Lee FFA chapter, FortMadison and Mount Pleasant FFA’s were involved in the activity. Approximately 100 young leaders were involved in the event. Some of the events were: Wheelbarrow race obstacle course, boardwalk relay game, human hungry hippo, day in the life of a farmer, lasso the cow head, rooster crowing contest, pig calling contest, milk the cow, and barrel racing.
