Congratulations to everyone for a fantastic State FPS competition. In team packet competition, sixth graders Micah, Jackson, Caedon, and Henry were 6th in the junior division and 8th graders Addysin, Aurora, Taylor, and Peter were 4th in the middle division. Two high school teams placed. Maren, Kodi, and Lauren were 4th and Blake, Landon, and Logan were 5th. Individually, Ellie received the second place award.
These girls qualified for the FPS International conference in Massachusetts in June. MacKenzie Gerber (1st) and Abigail Hand (3rd) in Scenario Writing, and Aubrey Weber (1st) in Community Problem Solving.

Several members of the Central Lee FFA and Agricultural Education Department participated in the 94th annual Iowa FFA Leadership Conference held on the campus of Iowa State University.  Members received awards, advanced degrees,  performed in the state chorus, qualified for State Talent, took competency exams, participated in career development events, participated in leadership development events, worked on team building activities and networked with members from across the state. The Central Lee youth track meet hosted by CL Sports Boosters for this Wednesday is being postponed until Wednesday, May 4.

11 members from the Central Lee FFA were raised the the coveted Iowa FFA degree at the 94th Iowa FFA Conference held in Ames, Iowa recently.  The degree requires high expectations in their Supervised Agricultural Experience Program(SAEP), community service, agricultural skills, FFA activities above the chapter level and high marks in their scholastic record. Everlee Harvey(L) and Emma Harvey(R) presented to the Survey of the Animal Industry class recently. The pair demonstrated and discussed all aspects of a ewe/lamb enterprise to their peers.  The discussion included a high quality model depicting a working ewe/lamb enterprise.  Additionally, both achieved the coveted Iowa FFA degree which is the highest degree a state can bestow in the FFA.  #CTEworksforCL

High school students were able to get a good look at future careers at the Skilled Trades Expo put on by the Iowa National Guard. There were dozens of experts representing the many skilled trades opportunities in our area. Students were able to learn about apprenticeships, careers, and their next steps into a great career. #CTEworkforCL

Today's middle school soccer game against Fort Madison has been cancelled. 
Cody Swan(R) of Kemin Industries of Des Moines speaks to an Animal Science class at Central Lee High School.  The students are part of a concurrent enrollment course offered at Central Lee and receive college credit while enrolled in high school.  Nine concurrent enrollment courses are offered to Agricultural Education students at Central Lee.  #CTEworksforCL
