We’re celebrating National Robotics Week! We’re proud of the many opportunities available to students in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), starting from an early age.

The Central Lee Ag-Ed/FFA Chapter hosted Ag Olympics recently on the campus of Central Lee High School. The event is held to showcase the hard work and many chores students perform on a daily basis. Additionally, the event is held during National FFA week or National Agriculture week to bring attention to the many agricultural products we raise in the midwest. Students exhibit feats of strength and knowledge of agriculture during the event. In addition to the local Central Lee FFA chapter, FortMadison and Mount Pleasant FFA’s were involved in the activity. Approximately 100 young leaders were involved in the event. Some of the events were: Wheelbarrow race obstacle course, boardwalk relay game, human hungry hippo, day in the life of a farmer, lasso the cow head, rooster crowing contest, pig calling contest, milk the cow, and barrel racing.

Tomorrow (Tuesday) night's rescheduled Varsity boys Soccer game vs Sigourney will be here at Central Lee at 5 pm. Go Hawks!
The HS boys and girls Soccer games that were scheduled for tonight (3/31/22) have been postponed. They will be rescheduled at a later date.
Our elementary students have been “rolling” through their week with enthusiasm!
K-3rd grade students have been engaging in PE with a gymnastics unit this week. Mr. Ethan Siebers is teaching them the basic elements of somersaults and headstands.
In Lifetime Wellness, with Mr. Ireland and student-teacher Miss Adams, students are playing musical tag. They raise their heart rates while they try to catch their opponents. They must remember to stop and dance when music starts. So fun!
4th & 5th graders are participating in their roller-skating unit in PE which takes place at the HS gym. This is something kids look forward to their entire elementary years.
We appreciate the coordination and planning by our teachers to make such positive experiences occur.

SAVE THE DATE! On May 14, we’ll be celebrating the inductees to the Central Lee Academic, Athletic, and Fine Arts Halls of Fame.
Those inducted in both 2020 and 2021 will be honored at this event. This will be the first time we have been able to hold an in-person ceremony due to the impact of the pandemic over the past couple years, so we are especially excited!
The ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. at Central Lee High School on Saturday, May 14. The public is invited and encouraged to attend.

Congratulations to the High School Large Group Speech Team for making it to State Large Group Contest. They performed at Kennedy High School and received two II ratings and a I rating. Well done ladies!
