The Central Lee Marching Band competed at the 30th Annual Clark County Parade of Champions on Saturday, October 9th. The students earned 1st place in the 3A parade division and 1st place in the 3A field competition division. Thank you music department parents for the photos.

Author, Kristi R. Bradbury (Rhody) from Los Angeles, spent Friday reading her first book “To Iowa In the Back Seat” to our elementary students. The story is depicts her experience traveling to Donnellson as a child to visit her grandmother. Several students also found out that they were related to her. What a fun day of learning for our students.

Aspiring teacher, Abby Sugars, is able to gain valuable teaching experience in our kindergarten classrooms here at Central Lee. As a student in the work-based learning class through the Career and College Readiness Program, Abby is able have the advantage to have a meaningful experience in an elementary classroom. She will be able to take that experience and the skills she has learned and apply them to her teacher education program courses.


Juniors and Seniors (pictured left to right) Gabe Lovell, Adrian Breitenstein, Eric Hornung, Josh Ellis, Collin Congdon, and Ethan Burkholder participated in a career tour of the Case manufacturing plant in Burlington through Central Lee’s Career and College Readiness Program. They were able to learn about career opportunities ranging from welding to engineering. This tour gave them insight into some of the many career opportunities in our area. #CTEworksforCL

We want to thank Donnellson Chiropractic Clinic (Dr. Rhonda Maassen ) and West Point Chiropractic Clinic (Dr. Peggy Booten) for their generous donations to our athletic department.
Dr. Maassen & Dr. Booten provided on site physicals for our student athletes at school registration this year. We are very thankful for their service to our students and for both of them donating money back to our athletic department. We hope to bring both of them back again next year!

The Central Lee Ag-Ed/FFA participated in a field day at the Iowa State University research farm recently. The High School Marching Hawks competed in the Ottumwa Oktoberfest Parade Competition on October 2nd. The students earned the Class 2A, first place trophy after completing the formation/instrument inspection process and marching the judged parade route.



The band department held a Band Alumni Night and All Bands Night at the Homecoming 2021 football game. Students from the 5th grade band, 6th grade band, junior high band, high school band and alumni represented classes from 1969 up to 2029 on the field for the pregame performance of the school song.
The music department would like to thank all of their parents and family members for their continued support. The department would also like to thank the greater community for supporting the music program as a whole. Over 350 music students participate in the band and choir program at Central Lee and the program keeps growing and improving because of your support for our students. Thank you!
