Maddox Doty gave his final presentation on his experiences in the Extended Job Shadow Capstone. An Extended Job Shadow Capstone Experience gives students the opportunity to take a deep look into a career that matches their career goals. Maddox has a career goal of entering law enforcement. The Lee County Sherriff’s Department invited Maddox to spend multiple days with their department to see all aspects of their career area. He rode along and interviewed multiple deputies to learn more about the career field. Thank you Lee County Sherriff’s Department and good job Maddox. #CTEworksforCL

Central Lee Elementary students participated in holiday activities before winter break led by our 5th Grade Student SOAR Team. These leaders planned for each activity and provided students directions as they gathered in the MPR. They made holiday cards for nursing home residents, designed ornaments for themselves, danced to fun songs, and took photo booth pictures. We are very proud of our students for applying for leadership roles throughout the building.

The CLHS Marching Band performed at the 2021 Liberty Bowl in Memphis, TN. The students participated in a full halftime rehearsal, in the Bowl Parade, performed during the game and attended an awards celebration with the other bands. The Marching Hawks earned Outstanding Color Guard, Outstanding Drumline, Outstanding Music, Outstanding Marching, Outstanding General Effect and 1st Place in Class A. Thank you to the department parents that chaperoned and thank you to our community for helping our students experience the Liberty Bowl.




The CLHS Concert Choir performed a short concert at Graceland in Memphis, TN. The students and chaperones had an opportunity to tour multiple Elvis Presley museums and visit the Graceland Mansion.


The Carpentry IV students wrapped up their last day on the job site before winter break today, and got a nice surprise from Donnellson Lumber! New Carhart sweatshirts and stocking hats! Thanks to Donnellson Lumber for not only the Christmas presents for the students, but for the continued support of our program!

Central Lee Hawk's Place after school program would like to thank Elliott Test Kitchen staff, Kumar Wickramasingha, Brian Mendez and Sheri Lozano-Dobbs, for allowing our 4th, 5th and 6th graders to enjoy, learn and grow with you the past few months. Elliott Test Kitchen is were education and good food combine to create a unique experience for students. Thanks for partnering with our after school program and introducing the students to the new experiences Elliott Test Kitchen provides. The students are always excited and ready to see what new things they will learn and taste each week. We are anxious to see what the coming new year holds.

On December 17th, Central Lee Hawks hosted HTC for the high school basketball games. Thank you to all Central Lee & HTC fans who donated to the Salvation Army. Also, huge thank to you our Central Lee Students for your great community service.

During the month of November the High School Student Soar Team hosted a penny war. Thank you to Fort Madison Hy-Vee for donating breakfast for our winners, the Seniors! All funds raised were donated to our local food bank.

The Central Lee Ag-Ed/FFA collected dozens of new toys and gifts for children in Kentucky after they experienced devastating storms and tornadoes. The toys were loaded on a truck in Bonaparte headed for Kentucky. Wrapping gifts were: Mallory Kerr, Nevaeha Stice, Kylie Davidson, Shane Barnhardt and Alexandra Fowler.

Please remember to send the Weekend Food Program papers back to school with your child if you are interested.
This is a great program available for any family that have students Kindergarten-8th grade. The program sends home easy to prepare foods each weekend, at no cost to you.
If you need a new form, please let Mrs. Wells know, and she will get a new one to your child. You need to have one form for each child. You can reach her at ewells@centrallee.org.

During the Central Lee VS HTC basketball game, stop out and see Art Club. They will have hand made items for sale, with the opportunity for custom orders.

This Friday, December 17th, Central Lee High School basketball teams host HTC. During the games our Student SOAR Team will be stationed in the hallway ringing the Salvation Army bell, taking donations. Thank you in advance to all who support our students in their collection.

There will be no activities after 6 PM today. All Central Lee buildings will be closed as of 6 PM due to potentially dangerous winds.
The Central Lee School District would like to thank Trey Wellman for his service as our student board member representative the past two years. Trey was our first ever student board rep. Trey resigned his position last night so he can be a page in the Iowa Legislature this Spring. Thank you, Trey! We wish you the best of luck in the future.
