Hawk Place would like to thank all veterans for their service and a special thank you also for those who visited us for our Thursday Military Career Day. The kids enjoyed hearing about their military career experiences.

Congratulations to our Quiz Bowl team as they finished 3rd in the 14 team tournament yesterday at Culver Stockton!

We’d like to wish a happy Veterans Day to all who have given back to the United States through service in our country’s armed forces. We’re grateful for your sacrifices and hope you know how much your service is appreciated!

The Central Lee FFA hosts its annual labor auction this evening from 5:30 to 6:30pm. Attendees are invited to bid on items for sale during the live and silent auctions!

We hope you can join us this Friday, November 11 for Midnight Madness at Central Lee High School. We have over 240 Central Lee basketball players competing that evening with lots of other fun activities planned! This event is being sponsored by Central Lee Sports Boosters.

Congratulations to the CLHS dance team- Impulse, on their performance this weekend at the Davenport "Legacy" competition. Looking forward to dancing into a strong season!

Central Lee Music Department senior, Carly Waldorf, has officially signed with Culver-Stockton College to play her alto saxophone in the CSC marching band and music department. Congratulations and and enjoy your time with the CSC marching band.

Today is National STEM/STEAM Day! Science, technology, engineering, arts, and math education programs are changing lives throughout our district—and opportunities for careers are expanding like never before. We’re proud to help Central Lee students pursue their interests!

A group of Central Lee High School Choir students sang the National Anthem at the Iowa Heartlanders Hockey Game on Sunday, Nov. 6th. The CLHS music department works to give students performance opportunities that are not common within a high school setting. It’s almost time to “fall back”! 🕛Set your clocks back an hour on Saturday night and wake up to a little more sunshine on Sunday, November 6.

The High School Student SOAR Leadership team is leading the way in the skill of giving back to our community. There will be a box in the HS office to collect the bottles of wash. See any HS Student Lead member to help us reach our goal.

November is Native American Heritage Month, and we’re excited to learn about and celebrate Native Americans’ cultural contributions and history with our students this month. We invite our entire community to join us!

Central Lee Middle School will be honoring our Veterans on Friday, November 11, 2022. Lunch will be served at NOON, with an assembly to follow at 1:00. November is National Scholarship Month! This annual campaign draws attention to the ways in which scholarships and grants can help students and their families afford the cost of college and reduce their student loan burden. October was a busy month for Hawk Place packed with Halloween fun along with some learning. The younger students enjoyed a career parade through the Montrose Care Center dressed in their "career" choices. As our monthly RAK (Random Act of Kindness) Hawk Place gifted the residents with bags of Halloween candy for giving out on Halloween. This was a good lesson of the enjoyment of giving to others and not always receiving. Iowa State Extension again brought some STEM activities to the students and the older kids enjoyed pumpkin carving at the Elliott Test Kitchen. Ending the month, the students were excited to accept an invitation to trick or treat at River Hills Village in costumes for the residents' enjoyment with the added bonus of some treats and a surprise "scare" from a gorilla hiding behind a curtain. Thank you to all for having us.

Seniors and Juniors in the Central Lee Music Department had the chance to visit Iowa Wesleyan College on October 26th. Fifteen students took advantage of the trip and toured the campus, talked with an admissions counselor, the athlete director, music department faculty and students while participating in one of the concert choir rehearsals with director Blair Buffington. This was a chance for the students to visit a local university and to learn the process for admission to post-secondary education.

It’s National First Responders Day! In honor of our community’s first responders, we encourage all of Central Lee to thank our firefighters, police officers and paramedics who sacrifice so much to keep us safe. We’re grateful for your service!
