The Central Lee FFA celebrates National FFA week annually during George Washington’s birthday. The week culminates with the annual parent-community-teacher-student appreciation breakfast. The FFA served over 450 supporters of the FFA including 2nd graders from the Central Lee Elementary. The Central Lee FFA celebrated National FFA Week recently. The week culminated in the community-teacher-parent appreciation breakfast. The breakfast is held annually on the Friday of FFA week. This year we served over 450 individuals to draw light to the importance of leadership and agriculture to our community. Additionally, we served the 2nd grade students to connect agriculture to their breakfast. #CTEworksforCL

Central Lee High School had 4 student science researchers submit their research for the 2024 Heartland Regional Junior Science and Humanities Symposium on the campus of The University of Iowa February 26th and 27th in Iowa City, Iowa. Student participants were Seniors: Sidney Gruntmeir, Mercedes Kirchner; Junior: Alivia Cook; Freshman: Allison Gruntmeir.
The students went on lab tours on the campus of The University of Iowa, attended keynote seminars, watched student seminar presentations, and presented their research in the poster session.

We have adjusted our previously scheduled half-days on April 19 and May 10 to full days of instruction. No further modifications are being made to the calendar at this time, and the last student day of the school year will be Friday, May 31.

The physics class has been actively applying their engineering expertise. Their objective was to construct a catapult capable of hitting targets positioned at distances of 3 meters, 5 meters, and 7 meters. While each design showcased unique features, they all had their own sets of strengths and weaknesses.

On February 24th, Central Lee Middle School had 52 students, with 40 projects, competing at the Culver Stockton College Science Fair in Canton, MO. Students competed against 6 other schools.
Between the 10 different categories at the fair, Central Lee had 8 student projects in 3rd place, 5 student projects in 2nd place, and 4 student projects in 1st place. The first place winners in their categories were Owen Burgess, Addison Hohl, Mckenna Fransk & Madelyn Kieler, and Arabell McDowell.
Students have their next science fair at Southeastern Community College in West Burlington on March 7th to compete against other schools in the Super Conference.
