We celebrate students selected by their teachers as HAWKS of the Month for October. These students exhibited regular use of Habit 1: Be Proactive. They were responsible for their actions, words, and work. They took initiative and were accountable for their actions. Teaching students how to grow as leaders is an integral component of the K-12 curriculum. It is embedded in all classrooms and embraced by staff and students.
Mrs. Kaisie Peterson's 4th Grade Class spends time becoming better readers in many different ways. You'll find students working independently on reading books at their good fit level. Students stretch their learning while completing i-Ready personalized lessons. Mrs. Peterson works with small groups teaching specific skills those students need. She also helps students strengthen their word knowledge by creating activities in wordwall.net. Even science and social studies topics are taught through experiences with articles and non-fiction text. We appreciate the intentional planning she and her 4th grade colleagues do each week to support student learning! #Proud2bCL

We are proud to welcome Christy (Holtkamp) Schrader as a 2023 Athletic Hall of Fame inductee!
Christy's achievements are nothing short of extraordinary. Scoring a remarkable 1,311 points and grabbing 733 rebounds, she stands as one of our school's all-time basketball greats. Her defensive talent shines through with an astounding 273 blocked shots, placing her among the top 50 in state history.
In 1993, Christy scored an incredible 550 points in a single season, along with 303 rebounds that placed her in the top 30 in state history. During her senior year, she averaged 5.27 blocks per game, also ranking in the top 30 in state history.
Additionally, Christy contributed her talents to the volleyball and golf teams. Off the field and courts, she exemplified leadership by dedicating her free time to serving as the President of the Student Council.
