Mark Hulsebus(L) was a guest speaker recently for the Agricultural Education class at Central Lee. The concurrent enrollment class of Animal Science provides students with the opportunity to earn college credit while in high school. Central Lee offers a multitude of SCC concurrent enrollment classes. Mr. Hulsebus shared the many aspects of meat science and the successes he has experienced while operating a business. This will be the first time we have been able to hold an in-person ceremony due to the impact of the pandemic over the past couple years. This event is open to the public. Today is School Lunch Hero Day. It provides an opportunity to celebrate our school food service workers for everything they do to provide our students with nutritious meals on a daily basis. You are all heroes to us! Once again, thank you.

Plant sale in the Ag-Ed/FFA greenhouse every Saturday in May from 8:00 to Noon. Thanks for supporting your local FFA.

Today, Central Lee hosted the ACT test. Thank you to our on campus coordinator Mrs. Weber & the students who tested today!

In the past week Hawk's Place has enjoyed many special guests. Several players from the high school basketball team came to play with the excited kids while other students chose to enjoy a "Pamper Party" hosted by Central Lee's dance team girls, with finger nail painting, hair styling and a little makeup. There were smiles all around that day, along with comments about playing with "real" ball players and "such pretty nails". One student asked the dance team to color his hair red. Unfortunately,.. or fortunately, they did not come prepared for that. With Mother's Day approaching we were delighted to have Lee County Floral visit and help the kids with a floral surprise for their mom or other special person. Thank you to these high school students that gave up their time after school as well as a big thank you to Lee County Floral, Scott and Victoria, for a fun afternoon making floral ice cream cones.

Little Hawks Preschoolers enjoy STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) Family Night provided by PBS Kids on May 3rd. Engaging activities for curious minds, kids and parents alike, fill the K8 Multi-Purpose Room.
