The high school soccer games scheduled for tonight against Mt. Pleasant have been postponed with a make-up date of April 21st.
Due to severe storms arriving near normal dismissal time, Central Lee will be dismiss at 1:30 on Friday, March 31, 2023.
This storm may produce high winds, large hail, and possible tornadoes. We want to ensure all students and staff can get home safely tomorrow.

Central Lee Youth Basketball Camp dates are now out. The boys camp will take place June 19th-22nd. The Girls will be from July 10th-12th with an elite camp for grades 6th-8th on July 13th.
If you weren't able to come to Kindergarten Info Night a few weeks back and would like a second chance, come see me on Wed. April 5th 2023 at 5:30 pm at the PK-8 building. Guidance will be provided around registering your child for the 2023-24 school year.
Last night these Hawk Place students enjoyed cooking with one of our Central Lee alumni Guest Chefs, Kelley Jackson Davis. Kelley has been a monthly guest chef and the students really enjoy her visits. She is a natural in the kitchen and with the kids. We appreciate the giving of her time along with her mother, Yvonne Jackson, who accompanies her and shares wonderful pictures of the progress from instruction, preparing, eating and cleanup. The following pictures were taking last night with the students enjoying the high school new plaza area. Thank you to these ladies and all our guest chefs that have given time for the students.

Hawk Place students celebrated yet another 100th birthday of Evelyn Pierce at the Montrose Care Center. The students presented the guest of honor with gifts they made adding a 100 pom poms on individual items. Gifts included a birthday hat, the letter E decor for her room and a wreath to hang on her door, as well as Happy Birthday cards. As they sang Happy Birthday they held up Happy Birthday pictures of the students cooperating together to make the letters with their bodies. The party concluded with cupcakes for all. Thank you Montrose Health Center for having us.
Look a these smiles! Hawk Place visits to YMCA Test Kitchen not only satisfy the palate but give the sense of achievement of making something delicious by themselves. Many of our students take what they learn back home to their own table. Making a meal for their family makes this a win win.

Congratulations to the CLHS students who participated on March 18th at the Eastern Iowa Science and Engineering Fair in Cedar Rapids, IA. Our students received many awards. Your hardworking and dedication are commendable.
The 7th-8th grade Spring Fling will take place on Friday, March 24, from 5:00 to 7:00pm. We hope to see you there as we celebrate the end of winter and look forward to warmer days ahead! 🌷

Weekly Activity Schedule for March 19th through March 25th.
On March 18th, Central Lee Middle School had 35 projects with 45 students competing at the Eastern Iowa Science and Engineering Fair in Cedar Rapids, IA. Students competed against 19 different schools and 85 different projects. They were judged by multiple judges for division placings along with many special awards judges for other awards and prizes.
In Junior Biological, Central Lee students placed three projects in Class 1 and one in Class 2.
In Junior Physical, Central Lee students placed two projects in Class 1 and two received Honorable Mention.
In Junior Teams, Central Lee students placed two projects in Class 2.
23 special awards and prizes were given to Central Lee Middle School projects!
Addison Hohl received Junior Champion in Biological Division and Caedon Newton received Junior Champion in Physical Division. That earned them both a trip to Dallas, Texas as observers for the International Science and Engineering Fair in May!
Students have their next fair at Iowa State University in Ames to compete against all of the participating schools in the state of Iowa.
