Each year the Southeast district and Iowa FFA officers plan and facilitate Greenhand Fire Up Conferences for FFA members in the Southeast district. Cedar Rapids Prairie welcomed FFA chapters from all over our district on September 22nd.
While at Cedar Rapids Prairie, district and state officers lead four interactive workshops for first year high school FFA members, also known as Greenhands, for the annual Greenhand Fire Up Conference. The workshops facilitated were leadership focused with an emphasis on the experiences that occur in the lives of beginning high school students.

Last Friday night, during our varsity football game, we proudly recognized one of our most valued supporters — Pilot Grove Savings Bank — for their generous donations of $1,000 to our Athletics Program and $1,000 to our Performing Arts Program and constant support of Central Lee.

Central Lee High School Music Boosters are hosting their 6th Annual Mattress Fundraiser on Sunday, November 2nd, from 10am-5pm. This may sound weird, but it is the best way to buy a new mattress because the prices can’t be beat, the brands are the same as retail stores and every purchase benefits the Music Boosters and music students. Students explored four different CDEs based on their interests: Farm Business Management, Poultry, Agronomy, and Ag Mechanics. The morning focused on learning contest rules and strategies, and after lunch students had the chance to compete against other schools.

On Saturday, September 20th, the Marching Hawks performed in the rain and brought home 1st place in the 1A/2A division at the Mt. Pleasant Marching Band Invitational!
