The Central Lee Community School District is proud to announce the posthumous induction of Mrs. Marilyn Young into the 2025 Fine Arts Hall of Fame. 🎶
For 38 years, Mrs. Young shared her passion for music with generations of students across Donnellson, Argyle, and Montrose. Her classroom was more than a place to learn—it was where young people found their voices and confidence through the joy of song. Her influence continues to echo through her students and our community.
The Hall of Fame Ceremony to honor Mrs. Young will take place on May 9, 2026, at 10:00am at Central Lee High School.

October has been a busy month for the Central Lee Choir Department, filled with show choir choreography sessions, rehearsals, classes, and honor choir events. On October 15th, Central Lee honor choir students divided to attend two separate honor choirs.
Twenty-eight CLHS students participated in the Culver-Stockton Honor Choir, where they spent the day rehearsing, learning about the college, and performing their selections in a final concert. Meanwhile, five students attended the Mt. Pleasant All-State Vocal Clinic, where they prepared for upcoming All-State auditions, took part in an ensemble clinic to understand the judging process, and concluded the day with a concert featuring all participating singers.
Both events provided valuable opportunities to learn new music, connect with other vocalists, and develop new rehearsal and performance techniques. Experiences like these are vital in fostering a strong and successful singing environment.

Sixteen Central Lee treble clef singers attended the ECICDA Treble Clef Honor Choir held at Clear Creek Amana High School on October 29th. The Treble Clef Honor Choir was a “learning” honor choir, where students learned new music at the festival before presenting a summative performance at the end of the day. This event provided an excellent opportunity for students to explore new rehearsal techniques, strengthen their sight-reading skills, and blend with new voices from different school districts. The choir was directed by Haley Gibbons, director of the Valley High School choirs.
