On Sunday, May 15, the Central Lee Class of 2022 will host a Graduation March Parade! It will start at the high school, move on to Montrose, and then Donnellson. The parade march will be followed by the 2022 Baccalaureate service at the UCC Church in Donnellson. For the parade, each graduate’s family will need to provide transportation for their family and graduates. Central Lee asks that the driver of the vehicle be a parent or guardian. We encourage families to be creative. Feel free to decorate cars with streamers and banners. Graduates, be sure to wear your cap and gown! School personnel will lead the parade in conjunction with the Lee County Sheriff's Office. The rules of the road will be enforced and must be followed at all times. Below is the schedule: 4:45-5:00: Parade lineup at the high school As graduates and families pull into the high school parking lot, please pull directly behind the car ahead of you. The line will begin outside the high school and continue snaking around the high school parking lot until all graduates/cars are in line. All parties need to stay in or near their vehicle during this time. 5:00 — Graduation March Parade begins Considering there will be about 75 cars, we will do our best to stay together. Again, please remember to follow the rules of the road! 5:15-5:45 — Parade arrives in Montrose The parade will enter Montrose from 61 West via Highway 404/Main Street. We encourage the community of Montrose to be ready and waiting to cheer for our graduates during this timeframe. The parade will continue through Montrose, taking a right onto 7th street, passing the Montrose Health Care Center, looping around on Locust Street to 6th, taking a right onto Spruce Street, heading left for four blocks on 1st Street, followed by a left on to Main Street to head back through Montrose. The caravan will take Peach Orchard Road out of Montrose and back to 218. 6:15-7:15 — Parade arrives in Donnellson The parade will enter Donnellson from old 218 South/Main Street. We encourage the community of Donnellson to be ready and waiting to cheer on our graduates during this timeframe. The parade will continue through Donnellson, turning west on Fruit Street, then right on Pershing Street, and heading back east on State Street toward the fairgrounds. The parade route will end at the fairgrounds. 7:30 — 2022 Baccalaureate Service Following the parade, starting at approximately 7:30 p.m. at the UCC Church in Donnellson, the senior class representatives invite any graduates, immediate family, and faith-based community leaders to the 2022 Baccalaureate service. Participation in the parade and/or Baccalaureate service is not mandatory. Please encourage your extended family, friends, and the community to come out for the parade. We look forward to celebrating the Class of 2022 on Sunday!
