What a great day yesterday. With the early out at noon, Hawk Place took advantage of the longer afternoon, traveling by bus to Galesburg to visit the Discovery Depot Children's Museum, Train Museum, Coney Island 100 year old diner, and ending the day with a train ride back to Ft Madison Depot where they met their parents, eagerly awaiting their arrival. We are so proud of the way these kids represented Central Lee. Many compliments from the different places were expressed how well they behaved and cleaned up after themselves. At the end of the day we were met by another Central Lee Alumni - Amtrak Amy (Case/ Lambert) who helped organize the event. Thank you Amy! It was a great day and the smiles on the faces say it all. ( I wish I would have taken a picture of the excitement as we pulled into the depot and they saw their parents out the window). Perfect ending to a prefect trip!

Little Hawks Preschoolers learned about the process of making ice cream. Andrea Benner from local business, Hinterland Dairy, read students a story and modeled the steps so the students could make their own ice cream. Students may have had to wait several hours to eat it, which was difficult, but definitely worth the wait! Thanks for the partnership, Hinterland Dairy!
