Our summer weightlifting program will begin on June 1st for grades 7-12. Girls will be lifting from 7am-8am and boys will lift from 8am-9am.
Congratulations to Tommy Eschman on a 6th place finish at State Track with a jump of 21-10!
These 6th graders were chosen to become Peer Leaders in 7th and 8th grade! They turned in applications, interviewed, and were rated by their teachers based on their overall schoolwork and character in order to be chosen. All of the students who applied did a great job, but these were the final 10 selected. This week they completed a training to be prepared for when they help in elementary classrooms this fall.
Two 6th grade students helped Mrs. Wells teach the 5th graders all about middle school. There was a lot of information shared, and a lot of great questions asked. Hopefully the 5th graders will feel a little more prepared for middle school in the fall!
Today, we recognize National Speech-Language Pathologist Day. We want to thank the SLPs serving our students for the important work they do to help address communication-related challenges. We appreciate you! 🤗
The Central Lee FFA held their annual parent-community-student appreciation banquet recently. Six members earned the coveted Star Greenhand award. The Star Greenhand Award is presented to deserving first year FFA members. These students have developed premier leadership qualities, personal growth, and career success. Congratulations to the following students who competed at the 6th Grade Math Bee against surrounding school districts on May 11th: Grant Weirather, Liam Crank, Cooper Calkins, Ruby Larson, Charlotte Jannusch, Elliot Hewett, Hayden Welch, Kellen Weber, and Ethan Sullivan! We are very proud of these students who were selected to represent Central Lee!

The Central Lee High School baseball team has arranged to play a game at Mt. Pleasant for tomorrow night, marking the first game of the year. JV kicks things off at 5 pm followed by the varsity game at 7 pm.
There is still time to donate your gently worn, used, and/or new shoes for the shoe drive fundraiser. Donations can be dropped off at the High School or K8 building. May 18th is the last day, so be sure to clean out your closets and send those shoes in!

Hawk Place experienced a few more new experiences the last month. We made homemade applesauce, Amish Friendship Bread, learned from a Money Management activity visiting a grocery store to find the best meal with the least money spent and a second hand clothing store to find the most inexpensive outfit. The event they seemed to enjoy the most was the cooperative helping hands activity. Students partnered up with one being the hands of the other student. The "helping hand" student closed their eyes and tried to feed their partner cereal, brush their teeth, comb their hair, and shave or put on makeup with directions from the "seeing" partner. ( razor with blade removed - safety first). Along with these fun learning activities students enjoyed crazy hair by the Impulse Dance Team and celebrated Ms. Abby's graduation.
