Middle School conducted their Battle of the Books (BoB) competition on Wednesday. All students participated in the morning preliminary rounds, and the top two teams from each grade competed against each other and a staff team in the afternoon. Yes, the staff team retained the crown :) The top two student teams will go on to regional competition next week. Outstanding performance BoB participants and winners, and a huge THANK YOU to Ms. Gunther, Mrs. Massey & Mrs. Derr for all their work in organizing and coordinating the battle! It's an enormous undertaking!

Happy Administrative Professionals Day! Today, we’re recognizing our administrative professionals’ tireless commitment to our students, staff, and families. Please join us in thanking them for all they do!

Students in grades 9-11 will take the ISASP Math test tomorrow, April 25, and students in grade 11 will take the Science test Thursday, April 27. Please ensure students receive a healthy breakfast. Reading is an adventure—and libraries are our guides. 📚 This National Library Week, let's embark on new journeys and explore the endless possibilities of literature. This week is a great time to visit the Donnellson Public Library or Montrose Public Library!

The PTO hosted a Mother-Son Tail'date' and it was a BLAST! The kids may have won the dodgeball games but the moms gave them a good fight! Thank you to all organizers and volunteers to make this event happen. So many awesome memories were made!

Today is Earth Day! It’s a great time to promote a greater sense of environmental responsibility and develop a deeper appreciation for the natural world. 🌎

We have been very impressed with the effort put forth by our students throughout ISASP testing this week! While official testing for students in grades 3-5 and grades 6-8 is complete, high school students will continue testing next Tuesday. THANK YOU to those who donated baked goods or money to our Grill Night on Monday. We made about $900! We will be doing another Grill Night for our Middle School Track meet on May 1, so I will be seeking donations and desserts, again, for that meet! Thank you for supporting our students.

It’s National Volunteer Month! A big thank you goes out to the volunteers who serve in our schools and make a positive impact on our students. We also want to recognize the many Central Lee students who engage in community service. Thank you for all you do!

April is Counseling Awareness Month! A huge thank you goes to Angie Moore, the incredible counselor at Central Lee High School. We also want to recognize K-8 counselor Beth Wells and Atari, the therapy dog, at Central Lee Elementary and Middle School. You all make such a huge impact on our students’ lives!

The 4th, 5th and 6th grade Hawk's Place students worked together to prepare, cook and enjoy a meal for a special guest. These students were excited to prepare recipes from their Test Kitchen cookbook as a surprise meal for Kumar Wickramasingha, the guest of honor. Recipes prepared were Pasta Bolognese served with garlic cheese bread, Mandarin Orange Green Salad and Snicker Apple Salad followed by Strawberry Shortcake for dessert. Students were introduced to these foods at the Test kitchen. If anyone would like a cookbook with these recipes and more please contact a Hawk's Place student. Elliott Test Kitchen, now YMCA Test Kitchen, has been a great fun learning experience for the students and one they look forward to and enjoy immensely. Many take what they learn home to their own kitchen table. Good job kids! Thank you Kumar and Test Kitchen for the experience!
